Personal Project
Music — mostly playing, sometimes making — is a huge part of my life. From dream pop to krautrock, progressive house to ambient jazz, I’ve got something for everyone in my collection. With the rising popularity of “algo rave” and Strudel, a JS-based REPL that allows you to generate synth “algos” in your browser, I decided to have some fun.
To convert them for play online, I downloaded them in .wav using the warm.strudel.cc REPL, and created a nice little skill in my Warp terminal to use the ffmpeg npm library to convert to .ogg format, the ideal format for creating online loops. (I have hopes to automate this with github actions in the future).
I quickly whipped up a fun little winamp inspired music player with literally 3 prompts and regularly enjoy the hypnotic stylings of my silly little loops while I’m working or (most of this site was created while listening to As Is Section & Staying Up).
